One Homeowner’s Renovation Experience

This was my renovation experience; from one homeowner to another:

j
“I had been looking for a company to work with me to remodel my 1938 center-stair colonial home…

j
I interviewed 7 firms: three builders, two architects, one of the bigger, better known remodeling companies in Montgomery County and Russ Glickman.

j
None of them really stuck me as having much experience working with someone with disabilities or aging in place. I was sure; at least the building company knew the laws and could come up with a product for me. However, I happened to see an article in The Gazette and found Glickman Design Build, who had done some advising for the county, and made an appointment with Russ Glickman.

j
Renovation ExperiencAfter doing our homework, after looking at some of the photos on the web site, talking with Russ and realizing that he had solid experience with remodeling, good ideas to share and firsthand experience with the challenges we selected Glickman Design Build

j
Perhaps my favorite thing about working with GDB was the team work. Experts were gathered, a talented and practical architect who respected the character of the house, and gave alternatives and solid advice and a talented interior designer for helping to make those hundreds of smaller finishing decisions, plus Russ Glickman, of course, who has a wealth of building experience…

j
The big picture is that Russ Glickman builds a team that works cooperatively together to create a product that met our specific needs.

j
The smaller pieces were that communication was stressed, details attended to, and we knew who was coming to do what work, and when.

j
Our space was respected, and the smaller pieces fit nicely together to make a wonderful and useful addition to our home.”
