House Remodeling and Renovations Near You in Cabin John, Maryland.
In 1912, the American Land Company, helmed by J.S. Tomlinson, bought a large tract of land it developed into residential lots called Cabin John Park. Many of the homes were built for summer occupancy only, but as the town’s year-round population grew, so did the area’s sense of community. In 1919, the Cabin John Park Citizens Association formed and set about improving the amenities of the community – better mail delivery, better street lighting, better telephone service. For Cabin John residents, which legend has it grew from a single home built on the river bank to the thriving community it is today, life means making things better. When Cabin John residents are looking for basement remodeling, home remodeling, home renovations, bathroom remodeling, bathroom renovations, kitchen remodeling, kitchen renovations, custom bathroom remodeling, custom kitchen remodeling, and condominium remodeling, they call Glickman Design Build. We help make your home better, so you can stay in it for life.
The Crab Feast is a Cabin John community institution, first held in July 1970. The first Crab Feast took place at the garden of Bill White’s house at 21 Carver Road. In 1990, the celebration was transferred to the Clara Barton Community Center. Since then, the festivity has become the biggest community event. It is celebrated every first Saturday following Labor Day. It attracts kids, teenagers, and grown-ups for games, music, and entertainment. Volunteers come out in droves, neighbors enjoying one another’s company, to make the Crab Feast happen – a festivity enjoyed by all. When neighbors in Cabin John want to add sunrooms to their homes to enjoy the amazing Potomac surroundings during the cold of winter, when they want to install patios and decks to enjoy those great outdoors with their neighbors, they call Glickman Design Build.
