It Starts With You

In the past several months you may have been thinking about staying in place and taking a second look at your home with an eye for enhancing what you already have. Well, you’re not alone. What was a trend has become the rage. In our area and across the US, homeowners are deciding to add -on, remodel, or both, instead of move. They are inviting their parents to join them in their homes by building in-law suite additions. Or they’re creating new in-home offices and remodeling basements into luxury apartments for their children. At Glickman we call this trend, creating “Your Home For Life”.

But, there may be one major obstacle. Not everyone has an eye for how this change to their homes will occur. Forget about the cost for a minute. Just the idea of how to change your home: what new rooms will you add? How will the floor plan change? How much new space will you need? What will new wall colors look like and how will your existing furniture fit into the new design-or not? These and numerous other questions can often stall the remodeling process for many homeowners.

Now here’s the good news. There are several interior/exterior design programs that you can use to help you get started. We have been thrust into the world of remote communication much faster than anyone anticipated. But now that we have several months under our belts and speaking with family members and business associates on the computer screen is becoming the norm, so to has designing your home improvements via the computer screen.

We’ve listed several examples of programs you can use to help you get started in the design process for enhancing your home. These interior design programs are easy to use, fun, and will get you thinking creatively. Once you have a general design in mind, call Glickman. We’ll take you to the next level of interior and exterior design with our “Real Time Collaborative Design” remote design process. It’s safe, informative and you’ll never have to leave your home.
