Dream Deck Part 4- The Foundation

Every structure depends on a strong, stable foundation. This is especially important for decks that support significant weight, such as large main-level platforms or upper-level balconies. In many cases, the foundation may also serve additional purposes, like supporting lower-level rooms, utility areas, or walkout entrances.

Construction typically begins with skilled masonry work to establish a durable base. Once the foundation is completed, the carpentry team can begin framing the main deck structure. This step sets the stage for all future elements, ensuring the deck can safely support daily use and long-term wear.

And sometimes, unexpected “inspectors” wander onto the job site, curious animals checking in on the progress when no one is around.

As you follow along with the Glickman deck construction, we invite you to imagine how a new deck on the back of your home would enhance your quality of life and make your home Yours.
