Basement Home Renovation and Wet Bar Wins Awards

Gazette Newspaper: “Designer Wins NARI creativity Award”

With three children, this family’s basement had plenty of play room but no room where adults could entertain. Pipes, ducts, and electrical wires were running throughout the area where the mom and dad wanted to build the bar. The bar was to become part of the entertaining area for their adult friends.

Gazette Newspaper:
“Finding the solution, the transformation brought Glickman Design & Build the title… ‘Contractor of the Year’ by NARI…”

Basement Home RenovationIn constructing the walk-up wet bar, Glickman built matching glass block columns with crown molding to hide the pipes and ductwork which were on one side of the bar.

A door in the column provides access to the pipes and duct work. The bar cabinets are outlined in glass block to conceal the plumbing below. Inside the glass columns, the walls were painted white to evenly reflect the new lighting installed behind the glass block. The black and white ceramic tile countertop and back splash matches the black and white tile floor.

Black cabinets and a black chrome sink were installed along with custom wine and bar glass racks. There are also cabinets across the top of the bar for visual connection and added storage. The bar is highlighted by new recessed lighting.
